This post is located in the community at the Hackney Ark which is a service that provides multidisciplinary support to children with developmental delay and and disability; providing services to families living in Hackney and the City of London.
The Information and Advice officer will be based in the Resource centre which is a forward thinking, welcoming advice, information and support service based within the Hackney Ark

Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good general education to 5 GCSE level including English and Math or equivalent RSA III Pitman
- Advanced Key board understanding IT - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook qualifications or experience,
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL) or willing to attain qualification.
Skills/ Abilities
Essential criteria
- Excellent negotiating and influencing skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Personal rapport and an ability to develop good working relationships with other professionals from various backgrounds and organisations, families and children.
- Good listening skills and ability to sympathise and empathise with parents and professionals in relation to difficult and sensitive matters

Experience

- Experience of working in an administrative or office environment, of working as a team member in a multidisciplinary team, use of a range of computer software packages, and previous NHS experience

- In-depth knowledge of national policies and procedures relevant to children’s and adults services

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
