An excellent opportunity has arisen for a clinical fellow in minimally invasive gynecological surgery at the Hampstead site of the Royal Free Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This post is for a 1-year fixed term.

Research/ Audit:
Individual research projects/ audits would be encouraged, if suitable.
There will be weekend working. There is currently no obstetrics or on-call component, but this is subject to change as the requirements in the department changes.
Main duties of the job
The post will include working closely with the Endometriosis/fibroid team supporting the clinics, theatre sessions, inpatient reviews, triaging new referrals, and preparing and participating in the endometriosis MDT.
There will also be a commitment to deal with emergency gynaecology and training more junior trainees.

Essential criteria
- MBBS (or equivalent)
- Current full GMC Registration
- MRCOG
- Eligibility to work at the level of a senior trainee, post-CCT fellow, or equivalent.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Training in general gynaecological surgery, including diagnostic laparoscopy and hysteroscopy
- Demonstrable interest in minimally invasive gynaecology with a commitment to learning advanced techniques.
- Basic knowledge of endometriosis management, including an understanding of the NICE guidelines, diagnostic pathways, and multidisciplinary approaches to care.
Desirable criteria
- Completion of a basic or intermediate laparoscopy training course (e.g. BSGE or equivalent).
- Some experience in performing minor gynaecological laparoscopic or hysteroscopic procedures under supervision.

- Awareness of advanced laparoscopic equipment and techniques (e.g., energy devices, morcellation, or robotics), with willingness to gain hands-on experience
- Participation in clinical research or audit projects, ideally related to gynaecology, minimally invasive surgery, or endometriosis care.
- Interest or experience in teaching or mentoring junior trainees or medical students.
