Job overview
The Team Leader is responsible for line managing the team of medical secretaries and administrative for the Trauma & Orthopaedics and Pain Management department. The role also involves supporting the consultants and their teams in delivering the administrative element of their roles. The role will also include ensuring the specialty clinics and theatres are fully utilized and bookings / escalations are done efficiently and timely to ensure this is happening. The Team Leader will also support the Senior Manager in ensuring the Department meets the RTT and National Performance Targets.
The post holder will also prepare and present PTL reports for the weekly PTL Meetings
Main duties of the job
• To provide line management to the Medical Secretary workforce within the department, in line with the Trust’s People and Development policies.
• To support the Divisional Managers, lead clinicians and senior nursing staff to ensure a well trained workforce can optimise administrative outcomes.
• Identify training needs and maintain training records for the medical secretaries
• To undertake all relevant Statutory and Mandatory training
• To maintain accurate attendance/absence records in line with Trust procedures.
