Main duties of the job

Main Duties of the Role:

  • Clinical Research Coordination: Manage and support the local portfolio of clinical research studies, ensuring compliance with study protocols, GCP, and regulatory requirements.

  • Patient Recruitment & Support: Identify, screen, and recruit eligible participants; facilitate informed consent and provide ongoing care and information throughout their involvement in clinical trials.

  • Data Collection & Reporting: Accurately document clinical data, complete case report forms, and report adverse events. Ensure timely data submission to coordinating centres.

  • Clinical Care Delivery: Provide and coordinate care for clinical trial participants, including administering treatments, monitoring side effects, and ensuring patient safety.

  • Education & Training: Educate and support colleagues, patients, and student nurses on clinical research practices. Participate in training sessions and contribute to a learning environment.

  • Regulatory & Administrative Tasks: Assist in protocol development, ethics and R&I submissions, maintain study records, and contribute to audit activities.

  • Leadership & Supervision: Support team members, coordinate staff and workload, participate in policy development, and contribute to staff induction, appraisal, and professional development.

  • Governance & Risk Management: Adhere to Trust policies, monitor clinical care standards, manage clinical and research risks, and act in accordance with NMC Code of Conduct.
