Job overview
We are seeking an inspiring Team Manager to head up our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service for the London Borough of Hounslow. Based at the Heart of Hounslow Health Centre (HoH) but delivering care across the entire borough, our team works wherever people need us – from community clinics to homes – ensuring individuals and families receive timely, life-changing support.
EIP is about early, proactive intervention: helping people experiencing a first episode of psychosis to recover, rebuild their lives, and achieve their aspirations. You’ll lead a skilled, passionate MDT – including a Team Lead, Band 6 clinicians, and specialist practitioners – in delivering evidence-based interventions that meet national EIP standards such as NCAP and the Access & Waiting Time targets. Main duties of the job
Main Duties / Key Responsibilities
· Lead the development, business planning, and clinical governance of Hounslow’s standalone EIP service, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and local community needs.
· Oversee financial and workforce management, including budget planning, recruitment, retention, appraisals, and performance monitoring to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
· Champion quality improvement through tracking and actioning EIP-specific KPIs (e.g., NCAP, Access & Waiting Times), using data to inform service development and enhance outcomes.
· Ensure compliance with Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards, and oversee the management of Serious Untoward Incidents, complaints, audits, and governance processes.
· Build and sustain strong partnerships with GPs, commissioners, local authority services, third-sector organisations, and other mental health teams to create integrated care pathways.

Essential criteria
- Experience of supervising staff and students
- Able to manage a caseload of people with complex mental health needs
- Experience of working in Early Intervention in Psychosis Services
- Experience of managing budgets, incidents/SUIs, and clinical governance processes.
Desirable criteria
- Awareness of Trust policies and service specification
- Extensive post qualifying experience in relevant service area
- Leadership or service development experience in EIP or CAMHS settings.
- Lived experience of mental health issues
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive knowledge of interventions specific to service area
- To understand performance reports and how they relate to team
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., MHA, Safeguarding, Care Act).
- Solid understanding of clinical governance, service delivery standards, performance monitoring, and quality improvement processes.
Desirable criteria
- To have a good knowledge of service objectives
- Solid understanding of EIP models, KPIs (NCAP, Access & Waiting Times), and CQC.
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker with a current registration (mental health / LD/ Adult) appropriate to the job role.
- Evidence of post registration training in relevant service area
- Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent/Practice Educators/Practice Placement Educator
Desirable criteria
- Degree/diploma level supplemented by specialist qualification, training, experience, courses to masters level equivalent relevant to the care group
Personal Qualities
Essential criteria
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills with staff, patients, families, carers and professionals
- Able to establish links with other services and professionals
- Able to effectively manage risk
- Demonstrable ability to lead service improvements, manage change, and mentor staff.
