West London NHS Trust  provides a full range of mental health, community  and physical healthcare services for children, adults and older people living in the London boroughs of Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham and Hounslow.

We also provide some specialist services that are commissioned regionally, such as our medium secure services; and nationally, such as the Cassel Hospital for people with complex and severe personality disorder and our high secure services at Broadmoor Hospital.

Our three well-established and friendly NHS Talking Therapies (previously IAPT) services, Hounslow, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Ealing are now recruiting Trainee PWPs as part of the access to Talking Therapies training programme.

This is a really exciting and rewarding opportunity! You’ll also receive a full time Band 4 NHS salary while you study and Training course fees are fully funded by the NHS.

PWP training is provided by University College London (UCL) and is full time. You’ll be employed and paid by us, attending university 2 days per week, and working in one of our services the remaining 3 days.

We are looking for trainees to join us who share the West London NHS Trust Values - Togetherness, Responsibility, Excellence and Caring.  These underpin how we treat each other and our patients.

You’ll help deliver brief structured supported psychological treatments, such as guided self-help, for people with anxiety and depression across the adult age range.

We are looking for candidates who have experience of working with people with psychological, interpersonal or social problems; either through employed positions or formal volunteer roles.

This course is a postgraduate certificate and you’ll need to demonstrate your ability to study at postgraduate level, either through degree level education or demonstration of academic equivalence.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of ability to study successfully at undergraduate year 1 level or the equivalent (foundation degree) or successful study at level 5
  • Minimum level 2 in English and Maths

Experience

  • Work or volunteer experience with people who have experienced a mental health problem
  • Computer literate

Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to integrate information; make evaluations formulations and decisions
