Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen with NELFT Estates Directorate for the appointment of a Leases and Property Manager. The Trust has an exciting portfolio of leases properties across North East London, Essex and Kent comprising of 133 owned and leased premises. There are 103 leases in the Trust which require meticulous maintenance and management.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will achieve the role by:
- Effective leadership, management and co-ordination of all lease and property within the Trust property portfolio which is crucial to the Trust functioning effectively, economically and safely. It demands a dedicated, professional and highly effective level of leadership and commitment from its officer.
- Responsibility for ensuring compliance with terms of leases across the estate and for the effective usage of the estate utilisation.
- This post will also hold the responsbility for maximising space utilisation and support local service changes across the Trust property portfolio.
- Negotiate and maintain all leases in accordance wth legislation and and Trust policy.
- Responsbile for developing long term strategic planning of estates with a wide range of stakeholders taking into account the Trust stategic direction.
- Maintain the leases and asset register managing a wide range of lease and property management contracts and leases across mutiple areas commuicating and updating information to senior managers, contractors, leaseholders and liasing with Trust solicitors.
- Priroitse across a range of competing prioites and be able to respond to short term risk whilst maintaining a strategic overview of longer term planning of the trust property portfolio.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place great importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.
Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).
High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,714 to a maximum of £5,941 p.a. pro rata for part time).
