Job overview
We are looking for an Imaging Healthcare Assistant that will provide crucial support in diagnostic and therapeutic imaging, assisting radiographers and radiologists with patient care, imaging procedures, and administrative tasks.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities include preparing patients for scans (X-ray, CT,, ultrasound, IR), positioning them correctly for imaging, ensuring patient safety and comfort, processing images, and managing patient data. The role requires strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and the ability to work as part of a team to deliver high-quality imaging services. Key Responsibilities
* Patient Care: Reassuring and preparing patients for procedures, ensuring they are positioned correctly, and providing appropriate care and support throughout the imaging process.
* Imaging Support: Assisting radiographers with tasks during X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds, and sometimes chaperoning patients during procedures.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
1. Patient Care and Support:
• Assist in the preparation of patients for radiology procedures, including obtaining consent, explaining procedures, and providing reassurance.
• Help with patient positioning on the examination table, ensuring their comfort and safety during the procedure.
• Monitor patients’ comfort and emotional well-being before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide post-procedure care, including monitoring vital signs, ensuring proper recovery, and assisting with discharge instructions.
2. Clinical Support:
• Assist the radiology team by preparing equipment and sterile supplies for procedures such as biopsies, Fine needle aspirations, catheter insertions, and other minimally invasive procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and sterility in the procedure room, ensuring all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and stored.
• Support the clinical team by handing instruments and materials during procedures as required.
• Assist with patient transfer to and from the procedure room, ensuring safe handling of patients, especially those with mobility challenges.
3. Administrative Tasks:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of vital signs, patient conditions, and care provided.
• Assist with managing patient appointments and ensuring efficient workflow in the department.
• Maintain and stock supplies, including sterile equipment, dressings, and medications, ensuring the procedure rooms are always ready.

Essential criteria
- Educated to a College Level
- Good standard of spoken and written English
Desirable criteria
- Computer literate, familiar with ADT & Symphony system
Experience
Essential criteria
- Working in acute healthcare setting
- Endoscopy Experience in clinical
- Previous Health Care Assistant experience
- Endoscopy administration experience in scheduling
Desirable criteria
- Managing people and services
- Have at least 5 years Working in healthcare environment.
Skills and knowledge

- Good general health
