Days, Nights, 12 hour Shifts

To provide high quality efficient administration and clerical service to all inpatient areas, staff, 
visitors and patients. 

Main duties of the job

Greet visitor’s face-to face and respond to requests for basic information.

Act as the first point of contact for patients, relatives, visitors, etc and to undertake duties in 
a pleasant, tactful and understanding manner 

Admit patients onto the units / ward using patient administration system

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Be a point of communication for all staff 

Receive new patients, direct visitors, and provide information to and from medical staff, and 
patients, daily 

View patients on admissions window in Epic and mark as ‘admitted’.

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Good communication skills including telephone, email, face to face

  • Previous ward clerk experience
