Band 2 Patient Pathway Support Officer 22.5 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 22.5 hours per week ( worked over 3 days) Band 2 Patient Pathway Support Officer to work as part of our Audiology, ENT & Oral Services administration team.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team registering patients and booking appointments, covering reception desks, dealing with patient queries and supporting the service line management team to meet patient access and waiting time targets.

Main duties of the job

  • Receiving and dealing with telephone enquiries as appropriate.
  • Input and look up data on Trust IT systems in accordance with Trust policy.
  • To ensure post is opened daily and dealt with accordingly.
  • To assist colleagues as directed by the Line Manager in times of pressure of work.
  • Co-operate in the introduction of new technology and new working practices to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • Photocopying, Scanning and filing letters and documents as required.
  • Liaise with staff and service users
  • To provide a point of contact for service users and other enquiries into the service either internal or external.
  • Be sympathetic and sensitive to the requirements of staff and service users when communicating by telephone or face to face, including dealing with a difficult situation, e.g. aggressive or demanding behaviour.
  • Attend admin team / departmental meetings on a regular basis.
  •  Contribute to building effective teamwork in exchanging views, ideas and communicating effectively.
