Rewards in kind - Join us, and discover the many rewards of a career in kind.

Our staffs are among the kindest people working in the NHS today. So it’s only right that we reciprocate. Join us and expect extensive support and generous rewards. You give, we give, and everyone benefits. It's why we call working here ‘careers in kind’.

Kingston Hospital is a high performing and clinically led acute hospital providing healthcare to around 350,000 people in South West London and North West Surrey.

Emergency Medicine is a critical service for us and our Emergency Department is a vital part of the community that cares for around 105,000 patients every year. The service line is growing rapidly and has had a recent investment of over £1.5 million in a new six bedded Clinical Decisions Unit. In addition,  we have expand our Urgent Care services on site into a dedicated facility and also increased capacity in Majors and Resus. The service line has also received an uplift in funding recently which has allowed the creation of these additional posts, to complement the medical and nursing team.

As the Junior Sister / Charge Nurse you will be responsible for the daily operational management and service delivery process within the department along with the line management of a nursing team.

Emergency Care at Kingston Hospital provides a supportive work environment and we are committed to individual staff development. We have a robust development structure and onsite Education Centre. We are affiliated to a number of Universities within the areas of Surrey and London for ongoing studies.

The Hospital is based in Kingston upon Thames, a bustling riverside town on the borders of London and Surrey with well served by public transport, with Norbiton Station on the doorstep. This allows you to jump on a train and arrive in central London in less than 30 minutes.

Working together to deliver exceptional, compassionate care – each and every time

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the United Kingdom (UK) are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. Please note that from January 2021, to work in the UK all candidates who are not UK or Republic of Ireland (RoI) nationals require sponsorship unless you have permission to work via another route. Non UK / RoI candidates wishing to apply can self-assess the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship here. It is vital that you provide full and accurate details of your current immigration status on the application form. Overseas applicants applying for entry clearance into the UK must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided in continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Guidance can be found here. Not everyone needs a ‘Skilled Worker’ visa. If you are applying for a vacancy in health or adult social care, check if you’re eligible to apply for the Health and Care Worker visa instead. It’s cheaper to apply for and you do not need to pay the annual immigration health surcharge
