CAMHS Specialist Eating Disorder Dietitian – Bedfordshire & Luton Community

Eating Disorders Team CAMHS - Band 7, Part time - 18.75 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our multidisciplinary Community Eating Disorders Service, which will also involve some support within our Intensive Day Service, working with children and adolescents. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic experienced Dietitian to join this specialist area within our developing service.

The successful candidate will bring adaptable and transferable dietetic skills to provide specialist assessment, treatment and nutritional support for children and young people with eating disorders. Strong communication and motivational skills are essential, along with the ability to manage challenging situations calmly and professionally.

Prif ddyletswyddau'r swydd

This role requires emotional intelligence, resilience and the ability to build positive, therapeutic relationships with children, young people and their families. The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and will be supported by an experienced Dietitian to ensure positive outcomes for the young people we support.

 

Our clinics are readily accessible from North London (Luton and Dunstable) or Milton Keynes and

Northampton (Mid Beds and Bedford). ELFT offer attractive recruitment packages and in Beds and

Qualifications

Meini prawf hanfodol
  • • Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics (or equivalent).
  • • HCPC registration as a Dietitian.
  • • Evidence of post qualification experience.
Meini prawf dymunol
  • • Postgraduate training relevant to eating disorders, paediatrics or mental health.
  • • Evidence of continued professional development specific to CAMHS or eating disorders.

Experience

  • • Strong understanding of eating disorders and their nutritional management.
  • • Knowledge of refeeding syndrome and safe management within an eating disorder population.
  • • Ability to provide specialist nutritional assessment, treatment and advice for children and young people.
  • • Experience working as a Dietitian in a clinical setting.

  • Experience working with eating disorders.
  • Experience in paediatrics or mental health settings.

  • Knowledge of the Children’s Act and other appropriate legislation
