We are seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist to join our existing Breast Cancer team based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in the Barts Cancer Centre. The successful candidate will join a well-established medical oncology team and play a key role in developing cancer services across the Trust. The posts offer an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and welcoming consultant team, and to develop new models of care/services that support the people in north-east London and beyond.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate professional excellence and the ability to deliver effective care. This post is advertised as a 10 PA fixed-term position for 12 months; an alternative timetable would need to be requested prior to appointment for consideration by the Clinical Director.  
You require full registration with the General Medical Council with the licence to practice.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • MB BS, or equivalent
  • MRCP(UK)
Desirable criteria
  • Higher degree, e.g. MD/PhD

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Broad based knowledge of and understanding of Medical Oncology including systemic therapy and the principles of Palliative care.
  • Specialist knowledge in the management of breast malignancies

Training Expected

Essential criteria
  • Higher Specialist Training in Medical Oncology
  • Experience in teaching / training undergraduates and postgraduates

Management/Audit Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of clinical audit
Desirable criteria
  • Formal management training

Academic Achievements Research Publications

  • Publications in indexed journals
