Senior Pharmacy Assistant, Chemotherapy Services Unit - Band 3

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated and ambitious candidate who is looking to build a career in aseptic manufacturing, to join our busy chemotherapy manufacturing team at Barts Health NHS Trust. The post holder must be keen to learn and develop with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will undertake a wide variety of roles within the unit including, but not limited to aseptic preparation, stock management, training and in-process checking.  The post holder will be based at St Bartholomew’s Hospital supporting our well established, dedicated chemotherapy manufacturing unit.

At Barts Health we take pride in developing our staff to progress. Within the Pharmacy department we offer several opportunities to do this. You will participate in training initiatives to meet both individual and departmental goals.  Once fully trained and we will look to enrol you on the Science Manufacturing Technician Level 3 course. On completion, you would be eligible to apply for one of our Band 4 SMT roles when available.

 

Main duties of the job

Applicants should hold an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent). Previous experience of working in aseptic production is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.  Accuracy and efficiency are essential. Attention to detail, adaptability and being a team player are a must.

  • Proven experience of good performance in previous Pharmacy posts
  • Knowledge and experience of following SOPs.
