The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapist to join our dynamic Stroke and Neurology team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the multidisciplinary team, working with patients who have suffered strokes and neurological conditions. Your expertise will contribute to their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain independence and improve their quality of life.
Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities:
o Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical abilities, neurological conditions, and rehabilitation needs.
o Develop tailored treatment plans, utilizing evidence-based techniques and therapeutic interventions.
o Deliver one-on-one and group therapy sessions to enhance patients' mobility, coordination, strength, and overall function.
o Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Nurses, to provide holistic care.
o Monitor and evaluate patients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
o Provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to actively participate in the rehabilitation process.
o Contribute to the development of departmental policies, protocols, and research initiatives.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Requirements:
o BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy, or equivalent qualification.
o Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
o Extensive experience in Stroke and Neurology rehabilitation, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge.
o Proven ability to conduct thorough assessments and formulate individualized treatment plans.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and engage with patients and their families.
o Commitment to professional development and keeping up to date with the latest advancements in the field.
o Experience in mentoring and supporting junior staff is advantageous.

- Extensive post graduate experience on stroke, neurology and respiratory rotations
- Experience of working within the NHS
- Experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to complete a neuro physical assessment
- Ability to make treatment plans for neuro patients
- Ability to participate in complex discharge planning
- Ability to complete accurate and legible notes
- Ability to prioritise, plan and pace own caseload and support other staff to do this
