Job overview
We currently have an exciting opportunity to join the Brent Children’s Community Nursing Team as a Children and Young People Bladder and Bowel Continence Nurse. We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic full time Band 6 Nurse.
The post holder will work as part of the Brent Children’s Community Nursing Team, providing children’s bladder and bowel nursing care primarily within a child’s home, school and nursery, and clinics ensuring the delivery of evidenced based care to children and their families or carers.
The Brent Children’s Continence Service will run clinics 9-5pm, Mon – Saturday. The post holder is required to work closely within a multi-disciplinary setting. Nurse prescribing competency would be an advantage.
This post offers a great opportunity for an experienced Paediatric Nurse to further develop their management skills within the community setting.
Main duties of the job
- To participate in the assessment, planning and provision of skilled nursing care in negotiation with the child and family
- Identifying, understanding and feeling confident to promote good bladder and bowel health for children
- To provide skilled, effective, evidenced based nursing care for children with bladder and bowel care needs
- To work in a collaborative manner with other agencies to ensure a seamless delivery of care to families.
- To provide information and support to facilitate the child’s and family’s own choices with regards to nursing care around the management of bladder and bowel issues
