The Head of Business Change and Innovation is a new role in digital and data which will help the organisation achieve transformational change and programme delivery to support our service users better.  The post holder will manage all digital and data related business change, which includes both existing change programmes, and new ones that this post will help to identify and shape.  As such this role is key to delivering the Trust changing priorities, leveraging the best new innovations, and maximising benefits from the delivery of programmes. You will oversee two Business Partners, providing line management and development, while working closely with the Service Assurance Lead, SIAM partners, and other stakeholders.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your work. By engaging with the wider North West London community and mental health collaborative, integrated care systems, local authorities, and partner Trusts.

To succeed, you will bring strategic insight, strong relationship-building skills, and the ability to articulate and deliver a clear vision. Main duties of the job

This is a key role at the heart of delivering the Trust’s changing priorities, maximising benefits from digital initiatives and programmes, and bringing the best new innovations into everyday practice. As Head of Business Change and Innovation, you will be working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure that technology truly supports patient care and staff needs.

You will also coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to manage demand, set priorities and make the best use of resources. Compliance with NHS and Trust requirements will be central to your work, as will risk management, ensuring programmes are well-governed.

 

We will look to you to bring insight into emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), identifying where they can add value, while also putting in place safeguards. You will help shape a vision for digital change that is both ambitious and realistic, building consensus and translating strategy into delivery.

This post requires significant experience of programme delivery, excellent communication and relationship management skills, and a detailed understanding of digital and data services.

Education/Qualification

Essential criteria
  • asters degree or equivalent experience, plus post-graduate in-depth professional knowledge in several disciplines e.g. information systems, change management, programme management, finance
  • Management training, qualifications or experience
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant programme management methodology certification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Extensive experience of digital and data programme and portfolio design, planning and delivery, and business planning processes
  • Experience of working with external resources from suppliers as well as in-house teams to delivery coherent joined up programmes of wor
  • Experience of applying innovation and ideation approaches, to generate and develop new solutions that can be practically applied to the benefit of the organisation
  • Experience in complex stakeholder management and engagement within, and across, organisations, including effective commination up to Board level
  • Experience of presenting complex and sensitive information to key stakeholders and groups
  • Experience of programme performance reporting, benefits management and realisation
  • Experience of budgetary responsible, including budget setting with evidence of working knowledge of financial processes
  • Experience of ensuring value for money and providing transparency around financial costs and benefits
  • Experience of risk and issue management, including applying mitigations and other actions to secure benefits where these have been in jeopardy
  • Experience of managing contractual change control processes including supporting the development and review of business cases, and reviewing contract documentation
  • Experience of working effectively with professional advisors such as lawyers, procurement specialists and commercial advisors
  • In-depth experience of staff line management and team management, including development, appraisal and achieving results through others
