CLCH are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Registered Nutritionist to join our Wandsworth Healthy Lifestyle Team.

The Wandsworth Healthy Lifestyle Team works across the borough to deliver Health4Life weight management programs to children aged 2-11 years as well as Mothers with a baby under 2 years old. The team work alongside the Health Visitors and School Nurses to provide excellent locally based care to families within the Wandsworth borough.

You will need to display excellent communication skills and be able to work in a kind and compassionate manner to deliver motivating Nutrition Education sessions. You will need to be creative in your approach in order to engage children of all ages. Mobile and agile working is a key part of the way the services operates so you will need to be comfortable travelling between venues throughout the week.

What do you need to join our team?

  • Hold a Nutrition or related Public Health degree along with registration to a relevant professional registering body in the UK (Registration with the Association for Nutrition or the British Dietetic Association)
  • Experience working with children aged 2-11years
  • An enthusiastic can do attitude

Education/Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Basic literacy, numeracy, general education
  • Hold a Nutrition or Public Health qualification along with registration with a relevant professional registering body in the UK for either nutrition or dietetics (AfN/BDA).
Desirable criteria
  • Physical activity knowledge
  • Food hygiene certificate.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • To have experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Previous experience working with children (ages 2-11)
  • Experience in dealing with members of the public who may have communication difficulties
  • To work independently within defined parameters.
Desirable criteria
  • To have experience working with post-natal mothers
  • To have previous experience of working as a Nutritionist in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in delivering group education programmes.

Skills & Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understands the links between diet and health
  • Knowledge of the public health agenda and the health care needs of individuals in the community
  • Understands Health & Safety Policy and is aware of the need to comply with other relevant Trust and departmental policies and procedures
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage time, meet deadlines, use initiative and deal with day-to-day pressures and demands
  • Good communication skills in both verbal and written format
