Job overview
In this role you will be at the forefront of delivering new models of care through transformation that meets the needs of our community, and will be able to contribute to the creation of what that looks like as well as positively impacting and enhancing the experiences of our patients in the diverse community of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster.
You will provide day-to-day specialist clinical care in a supported environment and within a dynamic team, to a diverse group of patients. You will work to embed biomechanics within the service across our caseloads and carry some operational management duties supporting the Clinical Team Lead.
Providing day-to-day professional leadership, you will ensure the needs of patients are placed at the centre of care delivery while providing assurance that standards of clinical care within a designated area is of the highest standard attainable.

You will need to demonstrate effective leadership skills alongside excellent interpersonal skills with a strong ability to teach and inspire colleagues through reflective practice, active demonstration of clinical practice and leadership.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- BSc Degree In Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
- Evidence of continual professional and personal development
- Registration with the Health Professions Council
- Certificate in local anaesthesia
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of post graduate training in specialist area of podiatry
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant post graduate clinical experience
- Experience of multidisciplinary and interagency working
- Experience of clinical supervision / mentoring
- Experience of service development
- Experience of working in an NHS environment
- Experience of working with a wide range of patient and disease / pathology types including the at-risk and high-risk foot
Desirable criteria
- Experience of managing a team
- Experience of rota and diary management
- Experience of staff recruitment
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of recent developments in the profession
- Full knowledge of podiatric theory and practice
- Knowledge of foot orthotic design and manufacture

Essential criteria
- Ability to cope with a busy demanding and varied workload able to cope with the demands of moving between sessional clinics, on foot, by transport.
- Performing clinical treatments in physically restricted work positions requiring repetitive fine movements
- Ability to multi-task and concentration in order to apply continued diagnostic and analytical skills throughout the working day
- Ability to cope with patients anxieties and employ tactical techniques in order to help support patients and allay anxieties
- Adaptable to a variety of working environments and the ability to cope with sometimes distressing settings and work tasks including wound care , neglected feet and exposure to malodour, body fluids including blood and wound exudate
