Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 7 Clinical Psychologist with an interest in physical health. This is a full time role, split between working in the community and in an inpatient setting. The post-holder will work across two sights, Gospel Oak Health Centre and St Pancras Hospital. Both sites are based within Camden, a large and diverse borough. When working in the community, the post-holder will be carrying out home visits, within patients own homes or other community settings, including care homes. This job would be suitable for a Clinical Psychologist with an interest in having a varied role, working as part of a team to provide high quality patient centred interventions.

Main duties of the job

The caseload is comprised of adults who have been referred for rehabilitation and may present with multiple complex health needs. The post-holder will be working alongside Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Nurses and other medical staff, carrying out therapeutic interventions for patients presenting with psychological barriers to progress in rehabilitation, including low mood, anxiety and difficulties with adjustment to diagnosis. There will be additional opportunities for consultation to the team, service development and teaching, particularly to non-psychology colleaguesThe post-holder will attend multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss and feedback patient care, contribute to family meetings and discharge planning. The post-holder will be provided with the opportunity to develop clinical and leadership skills through the support of senior colleagues, and will be part of a wider team of psychologists working in rehabilitation within Camden, who meet regularly for peer support and with an emphasis on continuing professional development.

The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
