An excellent opportunity has arisen within Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust at our Chelsea site.
For our Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse, with at least 3 years relevant experience to join the Haematology Cancer and HIV oncology Nursing team
A secondment or fixed term contract will be considered.
Main duties of the job
The clinical nurse specialist functions within a field of practice that focuses on the needs of the patient and encompasses interaction with others in delivering nursing, health and social care.
The CNS promotes excellence in nursing practice through the integration of expert clinical practice, education, consultancy, acting as a resource and commitment to nursing research.
This role give the applicant the opportunity to work in a Level II clinical haematology service providing complex chemotherapy (excluding haematopoeitic stem cell transplant) to a diverse population in West London. This role will work alongside the current Haematology/HIV CNS but will encompass HIV negative cancer patients only (although the opportunity for cross cover is subject to discussion). The dedicated team of consultants manage a complex group of patients with disease including myeloma, acute leukaemia, lymphoma and MDS. High dose salvage chemotherapy and BITE immunotherapy is administered at this site in a dedicated haemato-oncology facility. Ideally the applicant will have completed some haemato-oncology training and have expertise in the area of clinical haematology.

- Cytotoxic administration Qualification
Desirable criteria
- Advanced communication skills course or equivalent
- MSC or working towards
Experience
Essential criteria
- At least 3 years experience of working with Haematology/cancer patients
- Chemotherapy administration
- Work at band 7 level
Desirable criteria
- Experience of running Nurse led clinics
- Experience of working with HIV patients
