ELFT has long been recognised as a centre of excellence for mental and health care, innovation and improvement. So it is a very exciting time for you to come and work for us. Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive – so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.

Job overview

Are you a creative problem solver, who enjoys working with both patients and systems? Would you thrive in a service that welcomes innovation, with greater freedom to truly focus on client need, to identify and work with the unmet needs of some of our most marginalised patients?

We are looking to recruit an 8a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to our High Intensity User Team (HIUT) within the Liaison Team at Royal London Hospital. Our friendly supportive team aims to enhance management and treatment of frequent attenders to Royal London Hospital's A&E. We use flexible, creative and person-centered approaches, resulting in a stimulating working environment with lots of multiagency working and opportunities for teaching, consultation and leadership.

Main duties of the job

Main duties

  • 1:1 client work - engagement, formulation, treatment
  • Attending and contributing to fortnightly multiagency meeting with wider service stakeholders to discuss specific clients
  • Understanding and negotiating with wider systems to help support clients' needs to be met in more appropriate ways
  • Supporting a change in narrative around these clients, enhancing hope within the system network
  • Systems work with clients' extended service network: consultation, leadership, arranging and participating in professionals meetings
  • Joining in regular discussion with HIUT staff to support their work
  • Providing teaching and training to local stakeholders about our work and approaches
  • Supervising the Assistant Psychologist, including (with the service lead) overseeing their work maintaining the service evaluation database
  • Supervising a Clinical Psychology Trainee (third year, year long placements)
