Paediatric Audiologist
Band 6 (37.5 hours), Permanent
Due to an Internal promotion, we are offering an opportunity for a Paediatric Audiologist to join the Audiology Team at Great Ormond Street Hospital on a permanent basis.
The post will provide an excellent opportunity to develop your experience in Paediatric Audiology in a unique setting. The department has close links to the Cochlear Implant team.
Main duties of the job
There will be many opportunities to learn with the unique patient population found here alongside excellent CPD opportunities (Internal & External). Research experience is desirable with several active studies running. You will need a BSc in Audiology or equivalent.
You must also be HCPC/AHCS registered and have post qualification paediatric experience in the NHS or equivalent.

Education, training and qualifications

- BSc or MSc in Audiological Science (or equivalent)
- Registration with Health Professions Council / RCCP (or working towards registration)
Desirable criteria
- Participation in research
Skills and abilities
Essential criteria
- Competent at carrying out a full range of audiological testing
- Competent at independently behaviorally assessing children developmentally over the age of 3 years.
- Competent at taking a lead in behaviorally assessing children developmentally under the age of 3 years.
- Competent at fitting a wide range of hearing aids
- Competent at taking a lead in clinical appointments and creating a management plan for children with hearing aids
Desirable criteria
- Ability to demonstrate good working practice through auditing
- Ability to communicate using sign language
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Post qualification minimum 12 months paediatric experience, including experience in paediatric assessment and management
- Up to date knowledge of testing and current practices in audiology
- Knowledge of health service practices and understanding of clinical governance
Desirable criteria
- Interest and aptitude for research and development of the clinical service
- Experience fitting Bone Anchored hearing devices

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
