You will provide education and support to a wide range of nursing and allied healthcare professionals, and mainly to those who work in the Surgical Day Admission Unit (Woodpecker & Nightingale) and the Nurse-Led Sedation Unit. Other areas within our department are supported by others elements of the Education Team, and we work collaboratively to ensure that staff are competent and confident in all aspects of the patient surgical journey.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a multi-skilled practitioner who is able to support the range of clinical services within the directorate. You will work with the rest of the Education Team to support the clinical teams with providing education, support and training.
You will work with new members of staff, Student and Apprentice Nurses/ODPs, qualified practitioners and Healthcare Support Workers within the clinical environment.
You will help staff to identify and achieve competencies within their scope of practice.
Ideally, you will have experience in caring for the surgical patient, including the admission and discharge of surgical patients, and/ or in caring for patients having procedures under sedation.
