Job overview
You will be responsible for managing the Dispensary workload on a day to day basis and supporting the Dispensary Manager in service improvements taking part in Quality Improvement Huddles and ensuring that improvements discussed are followed through to completion.
Experience in Robotic Intelligent Storage Systems would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
This would be an exciting opportunity for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant with hospital Pharmacy experience and a keen interest in utilising technology in the provision of Pharmacy Services.

Academic/Professional qualification/Training
Essential criteria
- BTEC and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences or NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (QCF) Level 3 (City and Guilds) and Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science (QCF) or equivalent overseas qualification at degree level supported by Pharmacy work experience.
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Relevant Hospital pharmacy experience or supervisory experience in a community Pharmacy
- Dispensing and Distribution stock control systems
- Proven experience in training and assessment of junior staff
- Recent practical experience in a busy dispensing environment
- Managing own workload to meet the needs of a service
- Good Clinical Practice (GCP)
Desirable criteria
- EPIC Computer system including Electronic Prescribing
- Operation of Automated Dispensing Robot & Intelligent Storage Systems
- Use of medicines in specialist area of paediatrics
