Senior Pharmacy Assistant

Job overview

We have a vacancy for an enthusiastic Senior Pharmacy Assistant who will be responsible for the safe and secure storage of medicines in the Dispensary. You will also get involved in the Dispensing of patients medicines under the supervision of the Dispensary Team.

You will work together with the Pharmacy Team to ensure that medications get to patients in a timely manner, maintaining safe and adequate storage conditions at all times. You will also be required to meet and greet Pharmacy visitors and assist with their requirements. Other duties will include participating in the ward top-up service.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone with a good understanding of spoken and written English, basic IT and good communication skills in order to deal with a wide variety of pharmacy staff and ward staff.

You should be able to follow procedures closely and be able work well in a team to provide a high-quality patient-focused service. We encourage learning, development and career progression and the undertaking of the relevant NVQ units will be essential
