Job overview

Coordinate the frontline service to the Foot Health Departments at St.Leonards, providing seamless cover for the day to day running of the Foot Health Service.

Responsible for the first line supervision and management of the service’s receptionist

Communicate face to face and on the telephone with the general public and health care staff within and outside the service to for service delivery and to resolve problems.

Be responsible for the daily administration of the computerised booking systems and able to resolve common problems. To assist other band 3 administrator in clinic maintenance

Be able to problem solve issues relating to patient appointment and filing systems.

Main duties of the job

Provide a frontline service to arriving patients, staff and relevant visitors, redirecting people to other departments in the hospital and local authority as required 

Ensure that there is an appropriate standard of business like behaviours maintained by self and team when working in the reception area. This relates to communication styles and business practices

Registering new referrals on the Foot Health database Rio, scheduling new and follow up appointments ensuring the correct allocation of patients to the correct clinic 

Arrange services for patients to enable them access to their appointment. This could include arranging transport or advocacy services.

Update and print daily clinic  transport schedules for reception and individual podiatrist ready for next day clinic
