Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to lead the RNRU Outreach Team for this exciting 12 month fixed term maternity cover. This is an exciting opportunity to gain specialist MDT clinical leadership and operational management skills, within a small and friendly team of experienced clinicians.

The multi-disciplinary RNRU Outreach Team is a well-established and neuropsychology-led community service. The team offers highly specialised, person centred interdisciplinary assessment and goal led intervention to clients with non-progressive acquired brain injury living within approximately an hour from Homerton (broadly, north east London and Essex).  The team works with clients whose needs cannot be met by their local therapy teams, and who present with complex social, physical, cognitive and behavioural presentations requiring a neuropsychologically-led approach.

As part of Homerton Neuropsychology, the post holder will be part of a supportive network of peers, led by a consultant neuropsychologist. We host a thriving programme of Neuropsychology CPD which the post holder can access, support to shape, and contribute towards.

The successful candidate will have experience of qualified practice within adult neuropsychology, ideally in a community setting. Full time is preferable although part time may be considered. We welcome applications from candidates from minority ethnic backgrounds to improve our representation of communities that we serve.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will:

  • Assume strategic leadership of the team – ensuring the team continues to provide a sustainable model of specialist brain injury rehabilitation and evidence based, innovative working.
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership to the team in the provision of community-based specialist rehabilitation services to adults with acquired neurological impairment of a complex nature.  Hold a small clinical caseload and will act as an expert resource to colleagues and service users.
  • Provide Operational management of the team, as required, to support efficiency, effectiveness and delivery of the service.
