Thi This post is based within the Cancer Care Team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic registered nurse with knowledge and experience in Lung Cancer pathways and in possession of excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to demonstrate sound clinical skills.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small but well-established, hospital based team in a role which focuses on the delivery and maintenance of clinical excellence in Lung Cancer care improving outcomes and experiences for patients, families and carers.
You will be responsible for delivering high quality nursing care throughout the Lung cancer pathway, from initial assessment and diagnosis through to treatment and survivorship. As an active member of the Lung MDT you will liaise with other healthcare professionals and be able to provide evidence based outcome focused care for lung cancer patients.
We also welcome applications from band 6 nurses, wishing to join the team as a Band 7 Trainee CNS .
Main duties of the job
The post holder is responsible for delivering specialist nursing care as part of the lung multi-disciplinary team.
The Lung Cancer CNS acts as the patient’s key worker, ensuring they have access to all the holistic support offers for cancer patients, that patients progress efficiently along the agreed pathway and into the appropriate follow up arrangement. This will be achieved through the application of specialist knowledge, skills, and practice.
