Rotational Band 6 Midwife
Band 6
Advert
Job overview
Please note that this role is only open to midwives who hold a valid NMC registration and can demonstrate well-rounded experience across the full spectrum of midwifery practice.
Roles will be available on both full-time and part-time contracts.
Are you passionate about providing safe, personalised care for women and birthing people?
We are seeking motivated and compassionate midwives to join Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust as Band 6 Midwives.
This rotational role offers the opportunity to practise across the full spectrum of midwifery care, including the Delivery Suite, Birth Centre, Emergency Obstetric Unit, Antenatal and Postnatal Wards, Antenatal Clinic and our Community Teams.
You will gain valuable experience in both low- and high-risk pathways, supporting births in our Midwifery-Led Birth Centre and providing high-quality care within our Obstetric-led Delivery Suite.
Throughout the rotation, you will be supported to consolidate your skills, develop autonomy and leadership, and contribute to delivering safe, compassionate and evidence-based care, in line with national priorities, including the Ockenden review recommendations, Better Births and the NHS Long Term Plan.
As a fully rotational post, you will work across all areas of the service and participate in the 24-hour rota, including nights, weekends and bank holidays, with the support of senior midwifery staff.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as part of a dynamic team of midwives, delivering the full spectrum of midwifery care across hospital and community settings on a rotational basis. They will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based care in partnership with women and their families, while maintaining the ability to practise autonomously in line with professional standards.
The role requires a strong sense of accountability to women, the Trust, the NMC and the wider midwifery profession, ensuring care is always safe, effective and woman-centred. In the absence of the Team Leader, the post holder will also contribute to clinical management and provide leadership within the team.
