Job overview
We have an opportunity for a musculoskeletal physiotherapist looking to enhance their clinical & non-clinical knowledge & skills to join our innovative musculoskeletal physiotherapy team, who were finalists in the prestigious 2024 HSJ awards.
We have an excellent reputation for developing staff & offer a wide range of learning opportunities, such as:
- Regular clinical supervision, plus daily APP & pain service question time
- In-service training & individualised training such as funded MSc modules. We also support & host weekend courses.
- Band 6 MSK development program
Our work on staff well-being was recognised in the 2023 national PENNA awards where we were finalists.
We offer MSK physiotherapy outpatient rotations at Homerton Hospital, St Leonards, City & Hackney community clinics & Ludwig Guttmann centre (Olympic park).
Homerton's wider MSK teams consist of:
- GP, consultant & self referred outpatient physiotherapy services
- Post orthopeadic surgery rehabilitation, sports medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasonography, shockwave, virtual fracture clinic, non-medical prescribers & persistent pain service
- Close working relationships with radiology, rheumatology, orthopaedics, podiatry & emergency medicine

Main duties of the job
Main duties include:
- Specialist physiotherapy assessment of patients with diverse musculoskeletal presentations, providing a diagnosis and developing and delivering an individualised treatment programme.
- Utilization of a variety of Physio therapeutic modalities to enhance strength, flexibility, and functional movement. Alongside educating patients about their condition, treatment options, pain management and self-management strategies
- Developing individualized treatment plans and rehabilitation programmes tailored to each patient's specific needs and goals and evaluate using appropriate outcome measures.

- Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy, HCPC
Desirable criteria
- Relevant post graduate courses/training/CPD
Knowledge

- Knowledge/understanding, MSK knowledge, confidentiality issues, EBP, audit
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of current professional and NHS issues, diverse multicultural society
Experience
Essential criteria
- Broad general clinical experience & experience managing a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. Maintaining relevant range of CPD activities

- Experience of working within a diverse socioeconomic/multicultural society & different healthcare enviroments
Skills/ Abilities
Essential criteria
- Able to manage caseload and to prioritise under pressure. MDT working. Ax & implement appropriate Rx for a range of patients.
- Able to demonstrate effective written & verbal communication skills, report writing
Desirable criteria
- Supervision/appraisal (PTA,St,Physio), presentation skils
