Job overview

We are seeking to recruit innovative and forward-thinking Band 6 Pharmacist to join our friendly Pharmacy Team by September/October 2025. They must have a "can do and will do" attitude and be able to overcome challenges in the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy setting and maintaining the high standards expected by the GPhC, the Trust and its patients.

The Trust has an Electronic Patient Record/EPMA system where electronic prescribing and electronic drug charts are in use Trust-wide and patient documentation (clinical notes, care planning) are electronic for the entire multidisciplinary team. 

You will participate in a structured rotational programme gaining experience and training in:

  • Acute care
  • Elderly care & stroke
  • Paediatrics & Parenteral Nutrition
  • Surgery & Medicine
  • Medicines Information
  • Dispensary Services

The postholder will be provided the opportunity to undertake the Diploma in Pharmacy Practice as per the department plan.

Main duties of the job

Main duties include:

  • To provide a clinical service to designated wards on a rotational basis.
  • Provide advice to doctors, nurses and other healthcare professional as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
  • To undertake any relevant audits as required.
  • To update clinical and professional knowledge through organised training and private study.
  • To contribute to the training of other team members.
  • To participate in the late duty, emergency duty, Saturday and public holiday rotas.
  • Any other relevant duties, as directed by the Section Leads.
