An exciting opportunity has arisen at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit to Head of Finance MES, this is a new post following the implementation of a two year pilot for a Theatres managed consumable service across the Trusts 38 theatres. This post supports and is embedded within the Division of Surgery and Cancer Care (SCC) with Trust wide responsibility for consumable managed service contracts.

The Head of Finance Managed Service Partnership role will lead on the financial aspects of the business case development and the procurement tender of the consumables managed service solution to substantiate the current pilot. As required the post holder will provide financial expertise in support of change and transformation programmes across the trust, therefore significant strategic finance experience is required. The candidate will require experience of business case development and investment appraisal, ideally green book business case development.

This role reports directly to the Divisional Director of Finance for Surgery and Cancer and deputises for them as required, and is indirectly accountable to the Divisional Director of Operations.

The right candidate will have in depth NHS finance expertise, excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, an ability to deliver to deadlines, and be flexible, innovative and solution focused.

 

This is a challenging and diverse role but offers the right candidate the opportunity to thrive and develop within a supportive finance team, as well as contribute to improving the service efficiency and professional offering of the Finance Business Partnering team function to the organisation.

  • The post holder will provide financial expertise in support of change and transformation programmes across the trust. Working independently with multiple multi-disciplinary stakeholders they will inform and advise on a wide range of initiatives from smaller scale service developments through to major schemes, all in line with the Trust’s strategic direction.
  • To lead the Trust’s business partnering, business case development and procurement tender of the consumables managed service solution.
  • The postholder will help identify, prioritise and coordinate the delivery of improvement opportunities. The role will include a focus on understanding the external environment and practices, and ensuring Imperial leverage relevant opportunities.
  • The individual should foster a culture of continuous improvement, and build and maintain a framework that will support this culture.
