With five world-renowned hospitals, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust is full of opportunity if you are looking to develop your healthcare career.
We are an NHS Trust of approximately 16,000 people, providing care for over a million and a half patients from north west London and beyond every year.
We have a rich heritage and an ambitious vision for the future of our patients and local communities.
With our partners, Imperial College London, and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, we form Imperial College Academic Health Science Centre, one of 6 academic health science centres in the UK, working to ensure the rapid translation of research for better patient care and excellence in education.
We are proud of our heritage in innovation and we are early adopters of new insights in technologies, techniques and treatments for improving health.
Job overview
The trust has an ambitious and wide-reaching IT strategy. This includes the support, implementation and upgrades to key systems such as our endoscopy, colposcopy and intensive care systems.
To support this and to maximise clinical benefits and also achieve significant operational process efficiencies we are appointing an Application Support Analyst Band 5 to support our clinical and non clinical staff with the configuration and use of our digital systems.
The Application Support Analysts will work in the Managed Applications Support Team, which is part of the overall ICT Application Support team, which supports the Trust's core applications.
The roles include managing Business as Usual requests and on-going system configuration as well managing issues and problems logged on the ICT Service Desk.
Main duties of the job
The roles are responsible for maintaining the availability and responsiveness of the system, the security of the system and integrity of the data held within it. The team is also responsible for the management of reference data within the system. The holder of the post must be or become familiar with both local trust standards, policies and procedures as well as nationally mandated policies and standards and apply these to the systems supported.
This role requires the competencies normally associated with the experience of supporting ICT Systems in an Acute NHS Trust. You will have strong analytical and communicating skills associated with the day to administration and management of Trust applications. You will work with users, gain an understanding of their needs and issues, arrive at satisfactory resolutions, feedback progress and report on your actions. The documenting of support standards and procedures will be a key requirement of the job.
You will be a champion for the system, promoting its use and working closely with the developers. You will also work closely with external agencies/suppliers, developing and fostering good working relationships, managing work to ensure that the service received meets both National and Trust requirements and standards, as well as ensuring timescales are met and Service Level Agreements are adhered to.
