Job overview
1 Year Fixed Term based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
This is a new post in the Medical Education department, which will play an integral part, in developing new and supporting existing programmes to improve the quality of education in the Trust. The post also offers a broad range of exposure across the Medical Director’s office with a range of leadership opportunities available.
Main duties of the job
In alignment with national and local directives, the following priority workstreams have been identified for postgraduate medical education this year. This role will play a key part in supporting their delivery:
· Develop and deliver the Community Outreach and Work Experience programmes
· Working closely with the Clinical Lead and the Getting into Medicine Consortium to conduct a comprehensive data analysis of the programme
· Collaborating with the Associate Medical Directors for Professional Development and Medical Education to evaluate development programmes and establish sustainability initiatives
· Support staff wellbeing and engagement by contributing to the Medical Wellbeing Programme, helping to maintain morale and job satisfaction among resident doctors.
· Participate in Trust-wide education projects, particularly those requiring resident doctor input, to ensure relevance and effectiveness, and provide feedback to shape future educational strategies.
· Lead and coordinate induction and onboarding programmes for incoming resident doctors and International Medical Graduates (IMGs), ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver safe and effective patient care.
It is anticipated that the postholder will work closely with the Chief Registrars and Senior Specialty Trainee network, ensuring resident doctors are represented at relevant forums/committees.
