Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Band 6 Specialist Dietitian to join our dynamic and supportive team on a full-time, substantive basis at St Mary’s Hospital, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The inpatient caseload includes supporting the major trauma centre, as well as providing care across acute wards. You will need strong skills in managing complex enteral tube feeding and working effectively within multidisciplinary teams. This exciting role offers the opportunity to develop your clinical expertise while contributing to service development, line management, and student training.

Main duties of the job
- To provide a quality Nutrition & Dietetic service to both in and outpatients within Specialist Area in accordance with established departmental guidelines.
- To provide specialist Nutrition & Dietetic input into education, training and development programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate medical, nursing and dietetic students in addition to other training requirements.
- To contribute to the development and implementation of evidence based nutritional guidelines and service developments in the specialist area.
- Support the Dietetic Lead in the delivery of an efficient, cost effective and high quality Nutrition & Dietetic Service, demonstrating an awareness of financial constraints of budgets for supplements/ prescription in both in and outpatient settings.
- To be able to use relevant statistical and graphical software for data analysis and presentation for producing ad hoc reports and project work as required.
- To maintain good office procedures for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, and ensure the recording of statistical data in line with agreed procedures.

Essential criteria
- Recognised Degree and/or postgraduate diploma
- Candidates are able to speak and write English to the appropriate standard necessary to fulfil the job requirements
- Eligible for HCPC registration (Dietitian)
- Evidence of on-going CPD
- Supervisory skills training
Desirable criteria
- Post registration validated professional course e.g. PENG
Experience
Essential criteria
- Clinical experience of working with complex patients in the acute NHS setting.
- Experience of being involved in audit
- Experience of clinical supervision of students and junior staff
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a teaching hospital
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

- Time management/Organisational skills
