Job overview

Op RESTORE is an NHS service hosted by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust that supports individuals who have served in, or are leaving, the UK Armed Forces and have continuing, physical health injuries and related medical problems attributed to their time in the Armed Forces.

This is an opportunity for a motivated, driven and enthusiastic individual with a passion for veterans healthcare or with experience of working in the Armed Forces to support the ongoing development of the service by supporting the administration of referrals into the service.

This is a non-clinical role and successful candidates will have a strong admin background and be comfortable working on their own.  Experience of the NHS and NHS systems would be advantageous, and the successful candidate will be confident to liaise with GP practices, NHS Trusts and military charities and have good organisation skills.

Please note this is a home working post and the postholder must be comfortable working in a remote way with limited face to face contact with the rest of the team. The ideal candidate will be able to work 22.5 hrs across 5 days a week. There will be occasional travel into London or other parts of England.

Main duties of the job

  • You will support the OpRESTORE team in providing effective office management by managing letters, logging referrals and dealing with emails from stakeholders, service users and their carers/relatives.
  • You will deal with service users via email who wish to book telephone appointments with OpRESTORE, who may have queries about the service or to make a complaint about the service.
  • You will assist the OpRESTORE Service Manager in the development and promotion of the service, contributing to the trust’s aim to provide excellence for our patients.
  • You will assist with collecting patient and community feedback, raise awareness of the patient’s experience as reported to OpRESTORE and feedback insights with the aim of being a catalyst for change and improvement.
  • You will deliver a competent and efficient service, demonstrate initiative in dealing with a variety of situations and act as an ambassador for the service and the Trust.
