Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our supportive and friendly Outpatients team. You will support Services across Outpatients including Outpatient Access, Inpatient Access, Endoscopy, Switchboard and Outpatient clinics across all three sites at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. To be successful in this role, you will have to be organised, resilient, result driven and a self-starter.  Awareness of Trust systems like Cerner, eRS, Rego, CDL, DrDoctor, Somerset and Hybrid mail would be an advantage.

 The ideal candidate should be confident to deal with daily situations but also have the acumen to escalate to senior managers as required.  You must be a good communicator and be able to successfully engage with all stakeholders, including clinicians, nursing and managers at all levels. 

 You will fully participate in meetings and provide support to the Senior Management Team.  You should be capable of learning and working with new systems as we continue to streamline and modernise, and be able to manage well under pressure and often in unpredictable circumstances.

 You will support the General Manager, Deputy General Managers and Business Managers as required.  You will have a can-do attitude with the fortitude to challenge outdated practices and thinking.  Outpatients is undergoing a very ambitious Transformation Programme and you will contribute to the Programme as appropriate.

 

 The post holder will be a key member supporting the Senior Management Team.  

You will need to show a degree of flexibility and be able to think on your feet.  Attention to detail is crucial, and the candidate must exercise discretion when dealing with confidential matters.  Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel and Powerpoint is essential. Main duties of the job

  • Support the Senior Managers to manage the people, processes and performance of the Outpatient Directorate 
  • To provide effective and accurate information service  
  • To provide high level administrative support to the Outpatient senior management team.
  • Manage the planning and prioritisation of the work associated with their team and organise all activities in order to achieve a cost effective, productive, high quality service.
  • Provide cross site support to enable co-operation within and amongst teams.
