Job overview
A vacancy has arisen for a motivated, enthusiastic and reliable individual to join the Respiratory Physiology team in the role of Team Clinical Administrator (band 3). This is a hybrid role, working between the administrative and clinical arms of the service in the specialist Sleep Centre at Charing Cross Hospital. You will join a multidisciplinary team including consultants, clinical scientists, physiologists and administrators.
You will play a key role in providing a comprehensive and good quality administrative service, working closely with the respiratory medicine operational team to book patient sleep studies, and liaising with and supporting the sleep receptionist delivering day-to-day services. Clinically, you will support the smooth running of the CPAP clinics, assist the clinical team with routine patient queries, interact with walk-in patients, post replacement parts and issue sleep study equipment to patients.
This is a specialist role and although direct experience is not required as full training will be given, some experience with patients would be an advantage. Excellent customer service skills, empathy and the ability to work under pressure are essential.
Main duties of the job
- Interact closely with medical, scientific and other nursing staff to provide a high quality sleep service dedicated to patient care.
- To take care of diagnostic equipment and the patient environment, ensuring it is clean and fit for use.
- Take joint responsibility for stock control.
- Participate in stock-taking, when needed, and record stock levels consumables used in the sleep centre.
- To greet and assist visitors, hospital staff and patients.
- Maintain good communication links with the ward team and other departments.

- Good educational standard of, at least, GCSE in English, Maths and one Science subject, or equivalent.
- Able to speak and write English to an appropriate standard to fulfil the job requirements.

- Computer literacy, especially use of MS Office.
