Job overview

King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Manager to join our Chief People Office (CPO). This pivotal role supports the Chief People Officer and the wider People Directorate, ensuring strategic and operational excellence across the department. You will lead the day-to-day running of the CPO Office, manage key programmes, and oversee performance against business plans. This is a high-profile role requiring discretion, strategic insight, and the ability to work across complex stakeholder networks both internally and externally.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide executive support to the Chief People Officer, including strategic planning and performance oversight.
  • Lead and manage the CPO Office, ensuring timely delivery of objectives.
  • Develop and implement business plans and monitor progress.
  • Liaise with senior stakeholders across the Trust and external partners.
  • Lead on project work, report writing, and preparation of board-level documentation.
  • Support employee relations and provide advisory input on complex HR matters.
  • Champion King’s values and foster a respectful, inclusive culture.
