Entry Level Medical Engineering Technician

Trosolwg o'r swydd

The post holder will work as part of a diverse and multidisciplinary Medical Equipment Management Service team to ensure the safe use of medical devices across the Trust.

The post holder will carry out acceptance testing, servicing and repair of complex medical equipment and devices. They will take part in workshop rotas and timetables, and maintain records of all completed work timely and accurately on the comprehensive equipment management information technology system. Where necessary the post holder will undertake training in order to develop, upskill and fulfil the evolving needs of the role.

Technical

Following standard operating procedures, carry out the following on complex electrical and mechanical medical equipment: 

  •            Formal acceptance tests

  •            Performance tests

  •             Planned Preventative Maintenance

  •             Servicing / Routine maintenance

  •              Under the supervision of senior technicians, analyse and diagnose faults in complex electrical and mechanical medical equipment, and calibrate and operate test equipment correctly.

  •              Carry out electrical safety testing of equipment.

 Communication

·               Provide technical information and feedback to clinical users on the service and repair of equipment.

·               Communicate with equipment suppliers and manufacturers regarding maintenance and repair of medical equipment.

 ·               Collaborate with other technical staff in the maintenance of medical equipment.

 Clinical

 Attend clinical areas to carry out routine maintenance of medical equipment, either alone or with colleagues
