Job overview
The EPR Trainer will assist with the design, development and delivery of the e-learning element of the training project and also with the design, development and delivery of the classroom training element of the training project.
This fixed term role will form part of the team of EPR Trainers which will assist in the delivery of the complete training project. It will also assist with the design, development and delivery of any future training programmes linked to the introduction of applications associated with the EPR system.
The post requires multi-site working across all Trust sites. The post holder will be expected to be flexible in their working hours to align with the needs of the training programme.

Main duties of the job
The EPR Training Team will provide high quality education, training and development to a wide variety of end users across the Trust. This includes supporting the rollout of the Electronic Patient Record to support patient care and preparation for the ongoing delivery of sustainable training. The post holder will play a key role in the planning and delivery of training and will work closely with healthcare staff and other key stakeholders to deliver future training requirements for staff
The post holder will work on both classroom training and e-learning creation for the EPR training workstream for staff across Moorfields Eye Hospital (MEH), including design, delivery and evaluation.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· Liaising with the Business Change analysts and RBAC team to understand the workflows of the role-based lesson plans across all areas of MEH, including medical, clinical and administrative; registering patients and referrals, outpatients, day stay and inpatient wards, A&E, theatres, order comms, ePMA
· Attend Train the Trainer sessions, to learn the new software, workflows and processes
· Create e-learning modules under the guidance of the Instructional Design Lead, including updates as required
· Create user support documentation under the guidance of the Classroom Training Lead, for example user guides, quick reference guides, etc, to a high standard, including updates as required
· Work alongside the LMS Lead and the Training & Engagement Lead to ensure classroom training is recorded accurately on the LMS
· Attend events around the Trust to promote the EPR
· Assist with the population and maintenance of the training environments
· Deliver consistent, structured and quality assured classroom training, under the guidance of the Classroom Training Lead, to super users, floorwalkers and end users. This will take place at several locations around the Trust network
· Conduct pre-training assessment and post-training evaluation
· Co-ordinate and prepare training facilities prior to training delivery
· Ensure that user attendance records and other training administration is accurate and kept up-to-date
· Deliver pre go live support utilising classroom, Teams and deskside methods
· Provide post go live support in the form of floorwalking, deskside training, telephone and Teams support (list is not exhaustive)
· To liaise with clinical and non-clinical colleagues who have the knowledge and experience to resolve issues as required
· Assist other program workstreams, as required
· Understand the EPR users and their objectives, and how education, training and development can help achieve these objectives
· Contribute to the effectiveness of learning within the health community
· Maintain professional conduct, including appearance, at all times
· Ensure the Trust’s values are embedded throughout the project

Education / Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Training or teaching qualification or demonstrable experience in preparing and delivering training
- Degree level qualification or equivalent industry experience
Desirable criteria
- IT qualification

- Experience of working at Moorfields Eye Hospital
- At least 12 months experience within an NHS acute setting
- Recent experience of teaching or training
- Demonstrable ability to work to targets and meet deadlines
- Experience of dealing with medical, clinical and administrative staff at all levels
Desirable criteria
- Experience of using an Electronic Patient Record
Skills and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Working knowledge of any of the following: outpatients; inpatients/day case; A&E; ePMA or prescribing and administering drugs; theatres; order comms (ordering tests and viewing results)
- Confident presentation and communication skills
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of adult learning theories
- Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office applications; ie Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Highly organised with effective time management capabilities
- Effective management of classroom time to maximise learning
