Job overview

The Radiology Service is an integral part of the patient pathway at Moorfields and pivotal to our clinical services. The Senior Radiographer will be an active member of the Radiology Department in delivering first class care to our patients, who are referred both internally and externally to the organisation.

As a Radiographer you will work as part of a multi-professional team.  The role involves using a range of highly specialised radiological equipment to perform X-Rays, Computed Tomography (CT) and Dacrocystogram scans.  This enables clinicians to make important decisions in the care and treatment of our patients.

Main duties of the job

The role involves producing high quality X-Rays, Computed Tomography (CT) and Dacrocystogram scans.  Experience of working autonomously is essential.

Deputising for the Head of Radiology in their absence and supervising other staff within the service.

To act as a Radiation Protection Supervisor for the service to ensure compliance with IR(ME)R 2017.

To undertake clerical tasks which ensures a smooth patient pathway.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Hons or equivalent in Diagnostic Radiography

CPD

Desirable criteria
  • Evident of commitment to CPD

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 3 years extensive post qualification experience in Neuro CT
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in X-Ray and Fluoroscopic techniques
  • Competent in IV Cannulation
  • 1 years’ experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of working autonomously in a busy clinic environment.
