The digital team in the ICS has an exciting, opportunity for a Clinical Lead for Informatics. We are seeking a clinical or care professional with significant experience in leading programmes delivering digital solutions for data and analytics who is passionate about delivering transformation to enable us to become a data-driven health and care service. The role is 0.4FTE and will be expected to manage the Information Governance, Data and Analytics Clinical Lead, as well as work as a leader across the team of Clinical and Care Professionals in the Digital directorate and in other teams, as well as provide clinical leadership over Digital Solutions for Data and Analytics across the Integrated Care System.

Main duties of the job

1.   Provide clinical leadership to the development of data and analytics requirements for South East London which will support the Integrated Care System (ICS) and its partners. 

2.    Provide clinical leadership into SEL’s role as a partner of the London Health Data Strategy and take action to maximise the success of delivery of this initiative.

3.    Taking action to ensure the achievement of benefits from investment in digital solutions for data and analytics, including by providing expertise in the solution design to ensure it is clinically effective, and by championing the use of data tools and insights by clinicians across South East London.

4.    Advocate for the delivery of SEL priorities in regional and national initiatives, including the London Health Data Strategy and the Federated Data Platform.

5.    Develop a community of practice of clinical informaticians across South East London, supporting more junior clinicians to become experts in this area.

6.    Be the Senior Responsible officer for the Digital Solution for Data and Analytics Programme.

7.    Participate in the SEL ICS Data and Analytics Group, SEL ICS Data Usage Committee and IG Committee.

8.    Provide expertise to guide the safe use and access to data from the agreed services and solutions, including by working collaboratively with Information Governance and Data Protection professionals.

9.    Provide line management for the Information Governance, Data and Analytics Clinical Lead

Qualification and Training

Essential criteria
  • Qualified care and/or clinical professional i.e., NMC, HCPC, social work register, GMC, etc.
  • Experience in a leadership role a major project in clinical informatics spanning provider organisations.
  • Prior experience in being a clinical lead for a programme incorporating clinical informatics including being responsible for the success of its delivery and for realisation of benefits.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the London Health Data Strategy and the Federated Data Platform
  • A demonstrated understanding of Information Governance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-organisational teams of clinical and care professionals, and other key stakeholders to deliver programmes across our system, including in collaboration with other Integrated Care Systems.
  • Understand the challenges of health inequalities and principles of identifying and addressing these.
