Job overview
Business Administration Apprenticeship
Throughout the duration of this role, the postholder will be required to enrol onto and complete the Business Admin Level 3 Apprenticeship. This programme will be completed within working hours in which allocated study time will be agreed with the line manager of the postholder. The apprenticeship will run for 15-18 months with the postholder gaining a Level 3 Nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification.

2. Eligibility
The programme will be delivered fully remote through the support of an external training provider using a blended learning approach, combining face-to-face tutorials with online learning resources and support.
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, the postholder must meet the following criteria.
- Be eligible to work in the UK and / or have a visa valid for the full duration of the apprenticeship.
- Be a UK / EU resident for the past 3 years.
- Not be over experienced in the same field as the apprenticeship.
- Not have any prior qualifications equivalent or exceeding the apprenticeship.
- Have already obtained or be willing to work towards Functional Skills Level 2.
- Not be in any other government funded programmes, such as University.
Main duties of the job
Alongside completing the Business Administraion Apprenticeship, the successful candidate will work closely within the multi-disciplinary ward and admin team, ensuring that effective and efficient administration support is provided. This will include monitoring and reporting on ward compliance, sending discharge correspondance to GP's, minuting meetings and ensuring information on ward noticeaboards is up to date and relevant.
You must be dedicated, reliable, proactive, and a flexible individual who is assertive and take the initiative in anticipating the needs of their teams.
You should be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. Along with being able to demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills.
It is essential that you have experience in using Excel along with good attention to detail.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will provide an effective and efficient administrative service to the Inpatient Service within the Hospital Division.
The postholder will need to demonstrate a high level of prioritising and organisational skills and be able to use initiative to develop office support systems as required, and to organise their own workload to meet Trust and local requirements, adjusting priorities as necessary in negotiation with the department and administration managers.
The job will involve liaison between colleagues at all levels, both inside and outside the Trust, as well as with service users and carers.
The postholder will be expected to identify threats to the service offered to service users or to the Trust and to contribute to improving systems and processes.
All administrative staff are expected to support the reception function when required by providing excellent customer service at all times.

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
