Job overview

We are seeking a friendly and exceptionally well organised person with excellent IT and communication skills to work in the Medical HR Team across the newly formed North London NHS Foundation Trust to support the HR function of medical staff. 

The post holder must be able to work as part of a team and be professional and flexible in their approach to their work. They will be able to communicate with colleagues at all levels and remain calm when working under pressure. The ability to use software and spreadsheets with accuracy is absolutely essential and knowledge and experience of medical and dental terms and conditions is desirable. 

The role will be challenging but exciting and you will be well supported in your role. The current team follow a hybrid pattern of working currently coming in 2 days per week and the post holder will have to travel to both St Ann's hospital and St Pancras hospital however if this is not suitable for the right candidate this can be negotiated as we are flexible working friendly and understand not everyone can travel. 

Main duties of the job

The role of medical hr advisor involves providing support to the medical Workforce in the provision of a range of medical HR and medical staffing support services, processes and procedures including the booking of temporary medical staffing and medical HR administrations such as payroll and recruitment. The role also involves ensuring the distribution and maintenance of the out-of-hours rotas, daytime medical rotas and that temporary cover is sought in a timely manner for staff.  To provide a point of contact for doctors in training regarding especially rota queries and other contractual issues.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. Education and Qualification

Essential criteria
  • Specialist knowledge in relevant areas of human resources acquired through degree or professional HR qualification.
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Knowledge and Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a complex organisations and a knowledge of ESR.
  • Experience of Medical Staffing in a large organisation.
  • Specialist HR knowledge, including current Employment and Data Protection legislation.
  • Experience of working in a HR department providing day to day advice and guidance on people management issues.
  • Experience of successfully building effective relationships and networks
  • Experience of report writing and presenting.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in other public/private sectors.
