Job overview
We are seeking enthusiastic LAS doctor ST4-6 (From August 2025) to join our in-patient mental health team at Edgware Community Hospital, Barnet, London. These posts offer an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing severe mental illnesses, such as schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, within a supportive and dynamic multidisciplinary team.
Main duties of the job
• Working on acute treatment ward
• Participating in daily morning MDT meetings, patient reviews, and case formulation discussions
• Gaining comprehensive experience in psychiatric assessment, patient management, and multidisciplinary collaboration
• Developing your skills through excellent clinical supervision and training opportunities.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBBS or equivalent primary medical qualification AND MRCPsych examination; OR a specialist qualification in psychiatry from an EU country that complies with the requirements of EU directive 2005/36/EC
Eligibility

- Eligibility for full registration with the GMC and a current license to practice at the time of appointment.
- Eligibility to work in the UK

- Written and spoken English skills to enable clear communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues
Career Progression

- Ability to provide complete employment history with no unexplained career gaps.
- Evidence that career progression is consistent with personal circumstances.
- At least 36 months’ training or experience in psychiatry (not including foundation modules) by the post start date ;OR 36 months’ training in psychiatry in an EU country, supported by evidence of compliance with the requirements of 2005/36/EC Directive issued by a competent authority in that EU member state
