We are pleased to advertise a rare and exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join our dynamic and energetic CAMHS leadership group as Operational Manager for specialist community CAMHS services in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
As Operational Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that high quality and responsive clinical services are provided to children, young people and families/carers within Greenwich. You will work in close partnership with senior clinical, professional and managerial leads within the Trust to realise our ambitious goals for Greenwich CAMHS and to drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Extensive experience of operational management and exceptional leadership skills are critical to success in this role - you will need to be a strong, compassionate and convincing communicator with an energy and passion for working with children and young people and in delivering transformational change. As such, we welcome applications from candidates with diverse experiences, including those without a clinical background.
Main duties of the job
Greenwich CAMHS works with children and young people aged 0-18 years with severe and enduring emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties. The service is underpinned by CYP IAPT principles and places great emphasis upon exciting and creative user participation work and service development.
The service is aligned to the nationally recognised THRIVE framework and provides interventions to service users on a needs-led basis. The service also has close relationships with wider CAMHS services in the Trust, including our cross-borough Crisis and DBT pathways.
We have established close working relationships with a range of partners within the Royal Borough of Greenwich and South-East London more broadly, including Children's Social Care and local schools.
The post is located in a modern clinic base in Shooters Hill, a short distance from Woolwich Arsenal train station with regular access to central London & Kent via the Elizabeth Line, DLR and national rail services.

Education & Qualifications
Desirable criteria
- Degree level education
- Professional qualification relevant to CAMHS (e.g. Social Work, Nursing, Clinical Psychology)
- Post qualification training relevant to CAMHS
- Appropriate management qualification or equivalent relevant experience in health or social care
Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum three years experience of senior/middle operational management of clinical teams in health or social care
Desirable criteria
- Leadership in planning and implementing service development and change within a clinical / social care setting
- Inter-agency working at a management level with successful track record of influencing and maintaining good working relationships
- Management of service user participation and involvement in services and implementation of service change as a result of feedback
- Managing resources at middle/senior management level
- Working effectively within the local and national political environment

- Leadership skills in managing multi-disciplinary teams with the ability to inspire and motivate staff to provide excellent care
