Paediatric Dietitian

We are looking for a Band 6 Paediatric Dietitian to join our community dietetics team. The post is full time and based at High Point house in Greenwich. Within this role the post holder will deliver paediatric dietetic care in established community clinics across the borough.

You will work as a member of a friendly team, with responsibility for a varied community paediatric caseload including food allergy, fussy eating, nutritional deficiencies and a small caseload of home enteral tube feeding. You will have the opportunity to work as part of an integrated children’s service with highly experienced paediatric community team.

To assess the dietetic needs of infants and children referred to the Community Paediatric Dietitian service and provide age-appropriate advice to parents and carers regarding their child.

To provide advice to colleagues in health and social care regarding the dietetic management and care of patients/clients to include colleagues working with children with complex needs.

To produce specialist reports regarding patients’ needs and summarise proposed care and management plans within agreed timescales.

The post holder will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis and the provision of dietetic intervention to children referred to the Community Paediatric Dietetic Service in agreed locations. 

The post holder  will support parents, clients and other professionals in all issues related to client management including training as appropriate.

The post holder will be responsible for the co-ordination of referrals to the community Dietetic service.

The post holder will manage the caseload for the specialist dietetic service to children with complex needs.
