An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Nursery Nurse or Nurse Associate to join our dynamic Young Greenwich School Nursing Team.
Our Young Greenwich health advisors work closely with our registered nurses in delivering the Healthy Child Programme (5 - 19yrs) to all eligible children and families within the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
Young Greenwich is a new integrated programme commissioned by the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The programme is led by Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust (Oxleas) and delivered with partners Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) who together with METRO form the Young Greenwich Partnership.
Young Greenwich deliver seamlessly in and out of schools, youth hubs and other community venues with strong pathways for pupils in schools into community-based activities and support and vice versa.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an outstanding practitioner with experience of working in a school environment or healthcare role with children and young people.
You will be a Young Greenwich Health Advisor who is motivated, proactive, and committed with excellent communication skills and can work unsupervised on occasions.
You will be part of the team delivering aspects of the Healthy Child Programme (HCP) 5-19 years which will include Reception transition welcome meetings, assessment of children in the Reception intake, run parent drop-ins and parent support groups, support with the NCMP programme.
As a health advisor, you will work with children and families to support them achieve maximum independence in their health and wellbeing.
Applicants require the appropriate qualification listed within the person specification, and must show excellent communication, presentation, and good IT skills.
In addition, applicants must have a current driving license with access to a car for work.

Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NNEB/ CACHE/ NVQ Level 3 in Early Years and education or Level 3 BTEC National diploma in Early Years/ Diploma in Childcare and Education or Nursing Associate qualification in children & young people (CYP)
Desirable criteria
- Additional Training undertaken e.g. Solihull / paediatric continence / sleep
Experience
Essential criteria
- Community experience or working in a health / school / social care setting
- Experience of public health approaches in community nursing
- Experience of facilitating workshops and learning opportunities for others such as parent / carers
Skills/Abilties/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to use Trust electronic record keeping systems and other IT systems e.g RiO
- Awareness of safeguarding procedures
- Awareness of the health needs of children including children with additional needs
Desirable criteria
- Full valid UK driving licence and use of an insured car for work
